Social Influence

One of the fundamental concepts in social psychology is social influence, which refers to the way people are influenced by others’ thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Social influence can be seen in many different forms, such as conformity, obedience, persuasion, and group dynamics.

Conformity occurs when individuals change their behavior or beliefs to match those of a group. This can happen due to various reasons such as pressure to fit in or fear of rejection.

Obedience is when individuals comply with instructions or orders from an authority figure. The classic example of obedience is Milgram’s experiment where participants were asked to deliver electric shocks to another person despite knowing it was harmful.

Social Behavior

Interpersonal Attraction pertains to how we feel about other people and the factors that influence our liking for them. This includes physical attractiveness, similarity, and proximity.
